This is where i shall explain.
First of all welcome, i know the site's nothing fancy to look at but we can probably work on that later, there are more important issues first.
Just to say, i know i am a Horde player, but the Alliance are just as crucial in this projects success.
I'm Hakhu, a 60 Tauren Shaman on Emerald Dream, having a keen interest in Player-versus-Player Roleplay, i find myself constantly disappointed with the RP-PVP of this realm. Not to be negative though, it just seems that the game mechanics of WoW only extend to allow 'pockets' of Roleplayers to form, whether it be guilds RP'ing within themselves, or one person playing their role in the middle of a zone/party dominated by Non-Roleplayers.
This is what Myself and Naught intended to change, to bring these pockets together, and get our claws stuck into some real RP-PVP. To create awareness, a better quality of Roleplay and an exclusive RP-PVP community. The best in WoW.
In the past i've been a player of 'Ultima Online' and 'Everquest 2', UO had EPIC roleplay, and is probably to blame for my upped standards of RP-PVP, as i know what can be achieved if enough people come together and be pro-active. I know there's enough decent people on this server to make this work, it's just getting them all together in a big bundle that's difficult!
We're asking you to be part of, and help us in forming this community which will work through these boards. So far it has only been possible to speak with Horde guilds in-game. Having gotten great feedback from members of guilds such as Horde's Pride, The Darkclaw Tribe, Nyx and The Warsong Clan, and not really any negative feedback at all, our intentions remain server-wide.
Things We Plan To Do
These are just the thoughts of a Cow and a Corpse. Where we are headed is very much open for influence and suggestion. If you have an idea that you think can improve the community, or just something fun for RP or RP-PVP, then open your trap.
- Firstly, use of these boards to arrange events, and to get some immersive stories running. At a bare minimum, all it would take is seven committed guilds, just seven, to be able to have an in-game event every night of the week. These events would not be obligatory, and that's the whole point, to make RP-PVP a casual normality. Sharing the load, in terms of organisation. (Ofcourse ideally, many more guilds/members of the community, would host events).
These events do not always have to be RP-PVP battles, they can just be Roleplay Events to fit a story, get-togethers for just one faction, or whatever you like. The point is, to give everything you're fighting for in-game an in-character meaning.
- Guild-based Territory, this was something we thought could be interesting to dabble in. Within the community, assigning territory whether it be a town, or an outpost, or perhaps an entire zone, to different guilds within the community. Within their territory, each guild could implement their own systems of laws and diplomacy with other guilds to pass through their land, also this land is their responsibility to defend and maintain. (Any of the laws implemented upon people are only consentual within the community, you can't just tax random passersby! and don't even think about arresting them) ~creates a /surrender macro~
Allocation of territory would be down to myself and Naught, i'd advise stating your case for being the best applicants for a certain area, in-character ofcourse. Also, your guilds favourite hangouts and such would be useful, so people know where they can go to RP or RP-PVP with you.
- My role in this, was intended to be a go-between for guilds of different factions, or just guilds who don't like each other. (We're not asking anyone to like each other, but keep your diplomacy incharacter to fellow community members, or you'll wake up with brown smudges in your vaseline, and an achey posterior) In-character drama is acceptable.
The idea was that i could hop between vent channels, or perhaps have out-of-game instant-message contact with an appointed alliance coordinator to get guilds of different factions doing things together, this could work well for surprise events as opposed to the forum organising events in advance. But i hope there are plenty of those too. Just trying to make life on the organisation end easier and more diverse for everyone.
With simplicity in mind, i don't really have anything else to say here. These are the foundations of something with great potential, please help make it real! Apply on the forums to join the community, or just post as a guest. Also, links to your guilds website, would be awesome, to spread the news.
What do you think?
How could it be improved?
WE NEED YOUR INPUT!
Kindest intentions, Hakhu.
